The Williamson County Republican Leaders (WCRL)'s mission is to advance the ideals of the Republican Party, and to identify and train leaders for public and party office, particularly in Williamson County. Endorsing candidates in primary, general, run-off and special elections is key to the WCRLs accomplishing our mission. Receiving the endorsement of the WCRLs is competitive and has been proven instrumental in many successful campaigns.
The Candidate Review Committee (CRC) is one of several things that separates our organization from other Republican groups in Williamson County. Annually, our President appoints a committee of seven (7) active members to vet, study voting records, and interview candidates from City Hall to the halls of Congress whose districts represent Williamson County on behalf of our membership.
Each year, usually two (2) months before each election; primary, primary runoff, local and general elections, our CRC delivers their reports to the membership and makes recommendations for endorsement. Candidates must receive 66% of the present active members to be endorsed. The same criteria is used in off year municipal and school board elections.
The WCRL's are will consider candidates for endorsement that are:
1. Servant leaders; selflessly puts others first
2. Issues based; delivers a clear and consistent message addressing relevant topics
3. Outcome driven; proven they have the knowledge, skills, and resources to WIN!!!
